10 Ways to Add Cottagecore Decor to Your Home

When I think of cozy, I think of cottagecore decor. At the core, I’m a mountain girl who loves nothing more than a tasteful plaid decor moment. I’m currently scheming up how to add a few new gingham patterns to our family’s mountain house so I’ve put together a bunch of cottagecore decor inspired photos for your next cozy home refresh.

The following images were created with AI in Midjourney! We love using Midjourney for inspiration and invite you to learn more about  (how to create with Midjourney here.)

I love how the pastel green walls in this quaint half-bath create a calming atmosphere. Paired with a classic white pedestal sink to create a clean look. The checked fabric skirt under the sink adds a homely touch, and the bright floral arrangement complements the room’s soothing colors, making it feel fresh and cozy.

In this bathroom, I think the soft pink drapes paired with the classic white clawfoot tub set a romantic cozy scene beautifully. The drapes’ subtle color works well with the greenery outside, bringing peace and tranquility inside. An ornate rug on the floor adds warmth, turning this space into an idyllic retreat for any home.

This quaint bedroom with rich forest green walls and plaid window treatments captures the cozy essence wonderfully. The vibrant floral pillows on the crisp white bedding add a pop of color that reflects the natural beauty outdoors, creating a peaceful haven to curl up with a good book.

This inviting nook, painted in pastel green, offers a peaceful reading spot. I like how the floral window shade complements the lush views outside, and the plaid armchair adds extra comfort. Potted plants and beloved books bring life and literary charm, making it an ideal space for quiet moments in any home.

In this dining nook, the sage green shelving and checkered window treatments create a backdrop of rustic elegance. I think the tablecloth’s pattern coordinating with the window treatments is a lovely touch, and the fresh flowers bring a burst of natural beauty, crafting an inviting area for family meals and conversations.

I adore this cushioned window seat framed by soft teal walls and cheerful plaid accents. The floral window shade contrasts beautifully with the green outdoor scenery, while the book-lined shelves invite you to dive into a story. This corner provides a warm, cozy atmosphere, perfect for leisurely afternoons in any home.

Tucked beside a window with garden views, this nook’s soothing green shelving and checkered cushion offer a serene escape. I love how the floral accents connect with the lush outdoors, creating a cozy reading spot infused with tranquility.

This reading nook is a symphony of comfort, with deep teal shelves and a window bench cushioned in neutral plaid. Floral pillows and a country-style armchair pull in the hues of the verdant hills beyond, crafting a tranquil retreat perfect for moments of solitude or storytelling.

I like how the soft blue cabinetry and marble countertop in this kitchen exude cozy elegance, complemented by rustic open shelves displaying charming crockery. The plaid curtain and stone wall texture add countryside touches, all harmonizing with the pastoral view outside, creating a heartwarming space for dinner gatherings.

In this cottage-style kitchen, the open shelving displays earthenware in neutral tones that complement the rustic stone backdrop well. I love the soft blues of the cabinetry adding a serene touch, while the checkered sink skirt gives a quaint, homey feel. It’s a perfect blend of functionality and cozy charm for any family-centered home.

I think the serene bathroom with soft pink walls and earth-toned plaid accents pairs wonderfully with the classic clawfoot tub. Flanked by lush window views and delicate floral touches, it beckons a relaxing escape for busy moms like me craving a cozy retreat at home.

I’ve pinned quiet a few of these above ideas for a design project at our family’s mountain house. While our home, leans more metropolitan, I love the idea of mixing plaid and florals for a cottagecore decor aesthetic.
